White bar on the top of the forewing
Underside is a motley brown pattern with red and coral patches
Underside has two distinct large eyespots
2-2.5 inch wingspan

Found: In open places with low vegetation such as meadows and vacant lots

Major foodplant: Pearly everlastings and other Compositae

Adults are active in: April - October
